2008-08-14 The Author is Revolting!
I bought this in good faith that I would be getting a thoroughly researched book into atheism due to Mr. Gisburne's lengthy videos on the subject on YouTube but after reading it I am left disappointed and more than a little angry at this man's complete and utter misrepresentation of what it is to be an atheist. The entire book is not much more than an unresearched, unreferenced and opinionated attack on religion. Why, when there are people like Harris, Hitchens and Dawkins all putting forward far better constructed arguments against religions, would you need this? It's not even funny when it is trying so hard to be. And when he does talk about what atheism is he gets it so excrutiatingly wrong. Animals are atheists?!
If Nick does have a strong point then it is not his writing and it's a lot of money to ask just for one man's opinion. For hardcore Gisburne fans only. Although I would still advise them not to part with their cash either.
