This and Duesbergs other books are excellent and extremely important. Don't be put off by the following reviewer who considers himself , but not the lay public, qualified to judge Duesbergs work. It does not take a PhD in any discipline to recognise Duesbergs qualities. If a scientific background is necessary, as he asserts, to properly evaluate Duesbergs work , then it may be useful to know that Nobel Prize winning scientists have done so and seen fit to join ranks with him. Duesberg was nominated for a Nobel Prize, was California Scientist of the Year 1971, and awarded the 'Outstanding Investigator' grant in1987 by America's National Institute of Health. He was elected to the National academy of Sciences in 1986. In short, his professional credentials are impeccable . Judge his character for yourself . I would urge you to read his 1987 book "Inventing the AIDS Virus" . A chapter from it and the introduction by 1993 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry , Kary Mullis (who invented the 'Polymerase Chain Reaction' ) , can be read on Duesbergs website. The subject of these books is extremely important and very relevant in 2002. I am afraid it may remain so for a long time yet, in view of the fiercely rigorous censorship of Duesberg and the many others who voice their concerns about the HIV hypothesis. Therefore I urge everybody to read this material and judge for themselves- as soon as possible...
