2008-09-16 It is not Gospel

This is not a Bible, it is one American man's interpretation of what he thinks the Bible says and means and as such should not be treated as Gospel in both senses of the word.

I do not mean to have a pop at his effort or his intention but I would be worried if people are reading this thinking it was The Word. For centuries copyists have strived to keep the Scriptures to what was written at the time , it is imperative to get the words correct and as intended. Just have a look at the liberties taken with the Lord's prayer!

This should be read as one reads any commentary but not as your Bible or for study. Reticence to read Bible translations of the past have been as much to do with typography and layout as they have with language.

Take time to search on Google for some of the changes and liberties that the message has made with the word of God before you buy. The message reads like a sermon mixed with Scripture and the danger is that you cannot tell where one starts and the other ends and that is a real issue to contemplate.
