2008-07-03 Like Shatner? Sense of irony? Then you'll love this ...
If by a man's works be he known, then don't trouble yourself with any of William Shatner's various autobiographies - pick this up instead. It's a fun and irreverent jaunt through the Shat's back catalogue, written with a wry, knowing humour that simultaneously pokes fun at and appreciates our Canadian hero for his unique acting and song-speaking skills.I am amazed at how many reviewers seem to think the author is being disparaging of Shatner; it is clear that he is as big a fan as the rest of us, laughing with Shatner rather than at him, and that the book is a labour of love. I have also failed to spot as many inaccuracies as others - perhaps I have a revised edition, but the plots of the movies are definitely fine in mine. In fact I have found the book an invaluable reference, introducing me to many Shatner movies I may otherwise have missed.
This is one book no Shatner fan should be without.
