2002-08-16 Tramps, Courage and most of all Humor

The first time I read this book it was given to me. I had walked nearly 1000 miles by then. The Last of the Saddle Tramps was a terrific book to get and read.
Some of Messanne Wilkins story about her travels may have saved me some hardships that were so humorous in her story.
One of the things I did notice that we both shared was the wonder of why people thought we would not want a bed to sleep in.
This book is almost #1 tops on my list of good books to read.
It tells of courage in times of trouble. The courage it takes to sell everything and buy a horse to travel on. Messanne's was 63 when she had to travel south to save her life. This tough, courageous woman decided to do it a style all her own.
Done with exceptional humor which also makes the book an easy read.
