2008-01-30 disappointing...

Having read the other Kylie Kendall books and found them amusing, light reads I was looking forward to Claire McNab's next offering. I was disappointed however. The plot was slow and dull and the regular character's foibles and idiosyncracies were starting to wear thin. Added to this the other characters were a collection of stereotypes with cardboard tendencies (I nearly abandonned the book altogether after the first few chapters when the only English character turned out to be a relic of empire so broadly drawn he should have been pinned to a Victorian nursery wall). The most interesting character in the book is undoubtedly that indispensable element in any lesbian novel,the cat... I rest my case.
