2003-08-10 Brown rat finds Love
"That Pesky Rat" is simply one of the funniest children's books I have read in ages - the story of a brown rat who lives in a bin but longs to be a pet with a name. The cameo appearances of his friends who have made it as pets (such as Pierre the Chinchilla who lives a glamourous life with Madame Fifi) are hysterical, and the finale of the book is a happy ending with a very funny twist! This is one book I won't mind reading to my children dozens of times - the illustrations are stylish and adults can enjoy the humour as much as (or even more than)the kids can!similar books
