I first got this from our library for my son to take on holiday. But we were all just so blown away by the beauty of the pictures, inferences and story that I looked it up on Amazon as soon as I got back.This book works on so many levels. For example, one of the hidden things about the story is that it reminds us that it's ok to let loved ones go. It's funny and sad, lively and enigmatic, magical and wistful... and you can even do 'join in the actions' when Lily does her housework! It's a wonderful story to take on every holiday, and suitable for such a huge age group in my opinion - for girls AND boys!
