Thinking Of You - The Ultimate Escapist Read
Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!

Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?

Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

2007-09-18 A lovely story, with good pictures and a great message

Milo with his glasses and walnut whip red hair is an ordinary little boy, setting off into the school playground with his friends. When they go out to play, he'd like to be a lion in the jungle game but isn't the strongest so he's has to be a monkey instead, and is a rather sad monkey. But mum thinks being a monkey could be great fun. And the next day Milo would like to be captain of the pirate ship but has to be a deck hand. But his mum can always see that it is just as much fun being an alien as an astronaut, a knight as a prince and so on. And by the end Milo's friends all want to be whatever Milo is. And Milo is happy just being himself. It's a lovely story, with good pictures and a great message. Great to help children who have started nursery or school and are adjusting to their place in a class pecking order, and for children becoming conscious of the peers strengths and need to build the confidence to see their own.
