Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

Agatha is on top form in another fine entry in this very enjoyable
series. Highly recommended, and probably unique.
series. Highly recommended, and probably unique.
Left with bald patches thanks to the wicked doings of a murderer from a previous investigation, Agatha flees to the coastal resort of Wyckhadden to grow her tresses back in privacy. When a local witch provides her with hair tonic, Agatha's hair begins to flow - but the witch is found bludgeoned to death. The odd elderly residents who inhabit Agatha's elegantly faded hotel seem innocuous enough, but as she delves into the killing she turns up secrets best left undiscovered, and powerful motives for revenge. Balancing the amorous attentions of police inspector Jimmy Jessop with an ever-increasing treacherous search for the culprit, Agatha is at her wit's end - and ready to cast a spell of her own...
2008-08-17 Faltering a bit with the latest.
The Ninth in the series of Agatha Raisin mysteries and I feel that M C Beaton has found that the USA audience have taken a liking to her work and she wants to keep them happy!. She makes comments on taking out the 'trash' when in the UK it's called the rubbish, and explaining that cosmetic surgery was not really an option yet in England (late 90's). She gets brands of Car mixed up and relies heavily on the English class system within her tale. The only thing that struck a chord with this tale was how Agatha, in the novel, could see a smoking ban in pubs likely in the future! Got a Crystal ball then madam?
Not a gripping tale but OK for a quick read that you can speed read through without losing a lot of the plot - what there is of it.....
