2003-02-17 A useful introduction

If you're looking at this review, you're probably about to start your law degree and are ordering your preliminary reading books. This one is good. It gives you a useful insight into what you're going to be studying when you start your degree. It's very general, but covers a broad range of topics, from the court system of Scotland to just how to go about tackling your first essay. I only bought this because I had to (it was on my preliminary reading list), but I'm glad I did. Take it with you to university, there's been more than one occasion when I've recognised something I'm reading, only to discover that I read about the topic first in this book. It's a good reference guide, at least I've found it to be so throughout my first year of law at Glasgow. Definitely worth a read before you go!
