Written by a former Associate Dean and director of studies at the University of Edinburgh, Studying Scots Law provides a highly readable account of the educational and training requirements for entry into the Scottish legal profession and provides essential information on law courses throughout Scotland as well as giving useful advice on study skills. Studying Scots Law provides law students with an invaluable source of reference throughout their studies.
2003-02-17 A useful introduction
If you're looking at this review, you're probably about to start your law degree and are ordering your preliminary reading books. This one is good. It gives you a useful insight into what you're going to be studying when you start your degree. It's very general, but covers a broad range of topics, from the court system of Scotland to just how to go about tackling your first essay. I only bought this because I had to (it was on my preliminary reading list), but I'm glad I did. Take it with you to university, there's been more than one occasion when I've recognised something I'm reading, only to discover that I read about the topic first in this book. It's a good reference guide, at least I've found it to be so throughout my first year of law at Glasgow. Definitely worth a read before you go!similar books
