2008-11-10 Labour of Love

It's taken me a while to finally finish this book and get round to posting a review - not normally a good sign, I think.
It's clearly a labour of love for the author, and there's much to admire in the writing and stylistic devices. However, reflecting Tesla's oddities makes for a distinctly laboured read at times. I'm not averse to complexity in writing (I love Mark Danielewski's 'House of Leaves', for example, which is much 'harder going' than this book) but the whole thing is, in the end, curiously unsatisfying.
