The most acclaimed debut story collection of 2007 now in B format. Winner of the Frank O'Connor 2007 International Short Story Award
In her remarkable stories of seemingly ordinary people living extraordinary lives. Miranda July reveals how a single moment can change everything. Whether writing about a middle-aged woman's obsession with Prince William or an aging factory worker who has never been in love, the result is startling, tender and sexy by turns. Miranda July is a brilliant new voice in fiction.

Winner of the 2007 Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award 'Laden with offbeat, emotionally isolated characters . . . mordantly funny.' Vogue 'Weird doesn't begin to cover it, but wonderful (in the literal sense of the word, as in full of wonder) does.' Elle In her remarkable stories of seemingly ordinary people living extraordinary lives, Miranda July reveals how a single moment can change everything. One of the most acclaimed debuts of the year, Miranda July is a brilliant new voice in fiction. 'A magically oddball study of depression, repression, envy, loneliness and aimlessness - and rarely has such a thing been so entertaining.' Time Out 'The stories and story-fragments keep just the right amount back; twist into something surprising and disconcerting. They are charming and funny, too.' A superb collection of stories. Each story has an intriguing narrative and leaves the reader wanting more. But these are perfectly succinct, apt and beautiful stories. If you enjoy reading well-crafted contemporary writing that has edge and sensitivity this book could be very enjoyable for you too. One of my favourite 'discoveries' of the year so far.
