2002-11-03 It has its place as a chronology of crime but...
For anyone who has read "Mad Frank" this book will disappoint. A good 80% or more is just rehashed from Frank's autobiography. The basic concept, a calendar of crime throughout the years on specific dates, is sound enough. However Frank has covered much of the subject material so it adds little to the reader's enjoyment.
There are also a number of attacks on other crime celebrities, which may help to generate interest. Frankly I did not enjoy this book, and can only hope that Frank's more recent output is fresher.
The man has a tale to tell the world, and this book does not do the legendary Mad Frank any favours. If anything it could discourage others from reading his later work.
