Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!
Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?
Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

The most famous British bomber of World War II, the Avro Lancaster flew on many famous raids - the 'Dambusters' Raid, the daylight raid on Augsburg and the sinking of the German battleship Tirpitz. As the backbone of the British bombing offensive, Lancasters inclicted decisively crippling damage on enemy factories and installations. As the up-engined development of the unsuccessful Avro Manchester I, the Lancaster first became operational in March 1942. Its four 1640hp Rolls Royce Merlin engines made it a formidable weapon, and it was the only bomber capable of carrying the 22,000lb 'Grand Slam' bomb. By the summer of 1944, it equipped more than 40 squadrons, and during its service career - with the British, Australian and Canadian air forces - over 7,000 of these redoubtable aircraft were built. The Lancaster Manual is reprinted from the official manuals originally produced by the Air Ministry for the personnel who actually flew and maintained the aircraft. All the essential technical details, including instructions for ground crews, handling and flying notes, electrical and radio equipment, airframe design and armament, are to be found within these pages, affording a uniquely authoritative - indeed definitive - reference source on the Lancaster Marks I and III. Other books in this classic series include The Spitfire Manual and The Hurricane Manual.
2006-09-12 Probably the best book for any Lancaster enthusiast
If you like Lancasters you will really love this book. It is the definitive book on how the aircraft works with a detailed explanation of how to operate the aircraft including start-up procedures, feathering the engines etc etc. There are many many diagrams showing the complete layouts of the hydraulic systems, electrical systems etc.
It is the information as supplied to aircrew. It is not the usual narrative of a Lancaster it is the real manual.
Don't expect a "story" but do expect full and complete details on all aspects of the aircraft, joystick linkages, rudder pedal linkages etc etc. A real gem.
