Thinking Of You - The Ultimate Escapist Read
Jill Mansell, unlike other writers in the rom-com arena, seems to get better with every book she writes. Thinking of You is her latest offering and proves that it is possible to get better with age!

Ginny Holland, a best selling author if left rattling around in her house on her own after daughter Jem goes to university. Lonely, she advertises her spare room for rent. Instead of a happy roommate, she gets moaning Laurel who is still hung up on her ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t enough, Ginny finds herself lusting after two men who can only be bad for her. Will Ginny get the man of her dreams, or will he be the one that gets away?

Mansell has a disarming ability to create characters that you already know and that tends to make her books impossible to put down. This book is no different. It is charmingly written, hopelessly funny and will make you forget all of your own troubles as soon as you read the first page.

?Excellent?
?Bursting with practical information and in-depth knowledge, Cadogan Guides also make a cracking good read.?
?It?s difficult to praise the Cadogan books too highly...good writing, amusing comment and invaluable advice?
?Classy but colourful with it...and offers advice on everything from walks to restaurants?
French experts Dana and Michael write with local knowledge about the multitude of things to do and see on this spectacular island of mountainous forests and lush valleys. Comprehensive listings point out the best places to wine and dine and where to catch the unmissable festivals and markets.
Relaxes on the beaches and tiny, hidden bays, and wanders through the chestnut forests of the Castagniccia - rides the Chemins de fer de la Corse: the marvellous mountain train between Ajaccio and Bastia - takes you through breath-taking mountain scenery to the town of Corte and along the river in the Restonica valley - offers an in-depth look at the customs, folklore, and historic aspects of Napoleon's birth place. 'Mountains are so high in Corsica that, if you have the radio on in the car, you'll sometimes find that it changes with every bend: one minute it goes from French to Italian, then, around another bend, into Spanish'.
Cadogan's newest edition to their major new series on France, the Guide provides detailed travel and practical information and evocative descriptions of unspoilt walks, scenery and beaches, as well as an in-depth look at the customs, folklore, archaeological and historic aspects of this fantastically varied island.

Special features and listings in the first edition of the Cadogan Guide to Corsica include a stunning, introductory photo essay, at least 300 hand-picked places to stay, 22 maps and site plans and dozens of suggested places to eat and drink.

Dana Facaros and Michael Pauls, Cadogan's inimitable writing duo, are widely acclaimed for their unique blend of eloquent, entertaining cultural comment and practical, discerning travel advice. To date, they have over 45 Cadogan guides to their name ? regional guides to France and series on Italy, Spain, Greece and Turkey. Dana's lifelong passion and talent for travel writing has been the subject of an Independent feature spread, and the two have frequently worked on freelance articles for major travel magazines.

2007-10-29 Ideal for the first time visitor

Corsica is a much larger and more varied island than the first time visitor might expect so a good guidebook is essential, (Corsica is roughly the same size as Wales). The Cadogan Guide has an excellent balance of reference and background information, with enough detailed text to allow informed decisions on where to visit. However, some simple local maps to accompany the guide's recommendations would have been helpful as even a Michelin roadmap struggles to make sense of Corsica's rural roads, leading to a few wrong turns on the way when hunting for that remote beach or tower, (not a real problem if you've adopted a suitably chilled out holiday mood). I'd recommend Corsica to those who love the rural and less developed regions of mainland France and the Cadogan Guide will definitely help you plan and make the most of your first and subsequent visits.
