2002-06-16 Great book on the SS Panzer divisions in the East

This book is a well-illustrated guide to the the fighting of the Waffen-SS in Russia. It starts up with a short introduction about the creation of the Waffen-SS, and then goes into details about the fighting itself.
It takes the reader from the victorious advances of Barbarossa to the apocalyptic fighting in Berlin. If focuses mainly on the Panzer units, but it also includes information about the infantry.
It deals both with the German Waffen-SS units, but also with he foreign troops, like the SS-Pz.Div. 5 'Wiking'.
The pictures are not entirely new, but they are still not the same presented in every second book about the Waffen-SS.

The main problem with this book is, that it is somewhat baised. The author still somewhat clings himself to the 'Waffen-SS = evil, Soviets = good' concept.

Altogether, it is highly recommended to anyone with an interrest in Waffen-SS or the Third Reich as a whole
