2007-08-21 Best work yet
Much as I love Tariq's earlier works, I personally feel that this collection is the best he has yet released. The breadth of subject and tone is staggering, and I can find something that hits home with me whatever my mood.Amongst his many subjects, Tariq also manages to imaginatively handle two sets of dichotomies in his work: those of a guy born in Pakistan and raised in Britain, and those of a poet with a degree in physics.
These make for two rich veins threading through his work that he handles subtly and beautifully, and intersperses with simple wonder at nature, and his experiences of life around the Clyde.
This is a book you'll return to again and again.
