I was only 3 months old when England and West Indies battled out this series. Yet I had heard the story about John Edrich and Brian Close's traumatic time in the middle against the West Indies' quicks at Old Trafford. It made those two guys legends and this book details that particular encounter wonderfully. The Windies had more talent in their side with Michael Holding and Viv Richards coming to the fore. The brilliance of the West Indies, the controversies and the hot, steamy atmosphere of that summer comes through nicely in this book. Recommended.similar books
