2006-05-29 Secrets Revealed
This book will appeal greatly to those of us who were out in Rhodesia during the turbulent 1970s, and the particular value of what is recounted here lies in the fact that it answers many of the questions we were asking at the time. One can read this book and come across the details behind, for example, the plot to get rid of Nkomo (when he 'climbed through the toilet window!') and think, "Ah-ha, so that's what happened was it!"In Rhodesia a great many interesting and exciting things took place, but even though many of us were involved in the security forces to one degree or another, there were many aspects we either weren't told about or simply didn't know about.
This book answers many of our questions, and also serves to emphasise the underhand way in which Rhodesia was expediently handed over to Mugabe in 1969. The author has done us a great service in putting his account into words - thank you 'Taffy' - you saved many a life through your activities. It's a pity the British politicians let you - and all of us - so dismally down in the end.
