2006-07-08 Useful and concise guide to this region
With very few other books covering this region, I was pleased to find this title. The layout is excellent, with picture, text and distribution map together. The text is translated from the Spanish, which produces some rather querky language, but it's perfectly understandable, and colour names like olivaceous or tawny (which often provide difficulties in translation) are clearly explained at the front to avoid confusion. I particularly liked the way that the key bits of descriptive text are in bold so you can home in on the diagnostic features. My one criticism is that the picture reproduction is not all it should be, with some lack of crispness in the colours. Overall, an very good guide to the region in a handy sized book.similar books
